Anna & Chris were married on June 6th, 2009 at the St. Francis UMC in Cary, NC and their reception was at the NCSU Alumni Club on the NCSU Campus in Raleigh. I initially met Anna through a referral from the Church and was really excited to be shooting a wedding there again (You’ll see why below). Over the months of planning and a bridal portrait session with Anna (Outside Jones Chapel on Meredith Campus in Raleigh), I really got to know a lot about both her and her family. I decided some time ago that building these relationships were a very important part of this business, to me anyway, so I want to extend my thank you for your courtesy and generosity. It was my absolute pleasure to capture your wedding day memories!
After the service, we took a few formal shots outside (thankfully the temperature had not yet been set to boil) then off to the NCSU State Club for the reception. As many of you know, I have a real passion for photographing Architecture. If you haven’t seen the new NCSU Alumni hall then you really need to stop by. It’s a fantastic venue complete with twin staircases, marble floors and ornate furnishings everywhere the eye can see. This was also my 2nd weekend in a row with the very talented and photogenic Randy Bennett from Joe Bunn DJ Company.
The reception flew by and after a great dinner from University Dining (also clients of mine), Randy got the crowd jumping and everyone partied the night away. Near the end of the evening, Anna & Chris celebrated their marriage in (what I personally think) the coolest fashion – by singing the NC State Fight Song. :) The crowd sent the couple off in old-school fashion – with a shaving cream and vienna sausage laden car. After my gear was packed up and I was on my way home, I got lucky and found the slightly less happy couple cleaning off their car at a local gas station…
