Andy Transplant Foundation Poker Tournament

A couple of times a year I take a break from wedding photography and dedicate my time to a worthy cause. This past weekend, the Andy Transplant Foundation hosted their 1st annual poker tournament at an estate in Raleigh, NC. The winner of the tourney won a seat at the W.S.O.P 10 million dollar tournament later this year. All proceeds from the event go to support transplant research and to increase awareness of the need for individual organ transplant donations.

With such a worthy cause, and appealing prizes and locale, the event drew many poker players from the area to compete for a seat in the big game! The backdrop for the event was a beautiful estate home in North Raleigh worth 3.4 million dollars. The builder, Pinnacle Construction Group, was gracious enough to open this home to the tourney and give us a view inside some of the areas finest high-end construction. It certainly provided an appropriate atmosphere when the stakes involved a $10,000 seat in Las Vegas.

All in all, everyone had a great time and all the months of hard work and planning paid off.

Christina & Antoine - Raleigh, NC Wedding

First let me profusely apologize to all of those looking for these photos. I was just SURE I had posted them and when I was going thru my files last night, I realized I had not. Well, as Mom always used to tell me “Good things come to those who wait”, the wait is over (and yes Mom, you were right…. again).

I met Christina & Antoine for the first time last year. At our initial consult, I remember thinking how much fun it would be to shoot this wedding. They were an absolute pleasure to talk with at the consult (and even for a few minutes after as we waited for the rain to subside) and I remember thinking how long of a wait it would be to work directly with them. Well my thoughts and inner monologue we are right on the money. From the moment I arrived at Christina’s house in Raleigh there was this pleasant aura in the air (along with some Alicia Keys) and the house was abuzz with energy. That energy stayed up throughout the wedding and into the reception at the Raleigh Sheraton hotel.

It was my pleasure getting to know the both of them and wish them the absolute best in their marriage and lives together!

So, without further ado (you’ve waited long enough), here are the photos (Photographers Note* - I do not condone trying to photograph while driving):
