Kim & Kentraille - Raleigh NC Wedding - World Overcoming Church

I met Kim & Kentraille thru a former bride of mine (Angie Baldwin).  Having done the photography for their engagement session in the spring, I was looking forward to seeing them again for their wedding day.  The day started out the same way most wedding days do, everyone rushing about taking care of final details, the hushed anxiety of the lovely couple and everyone else with pleasant smiles.  Having never been to the church before, I was amazed when I first walked in.  The church broadcasts their sermons and was fully lit and blocked for TV lighting.  WIth camera equipment all around, I felt very much at home and missed my old video/cinematography days a bit..  but I digress.

The ceremony went off beautifully and Kentraille did manage to speak his vows without a tremble - well, at least that we could hear.  The reception was full with family & friends, watching a slideshow of Kim & Kentraille, eating some incredible food and really enjoying the celebration.   I was honored to be part of their day and I wish them all the best.

Here’s a few photos from the big day!

My office…

I’ve been in the process of re-decorating my office and it’s finally to a point where I can show off a photo.  This was taken last night using only the incandescent lights in the room.  I’ll post further updates as I add track lighting and additional furnishings/photos.  Enjoy!

Don’t read this if you’re hungry!

I had the pleasure of going back out to the one of the area’s finest Restaraunt’s, Heron’s.  Two of their exclusive menu items have been chosen to be published in a national magazine and I was chosen to photograph these culinary delights.  If you are not familiar with Heron’s, it’s located in the 5-diamond Umstead Hotel in Cary, NC.  This is fine dining at its best and the beauty of their facility is only surpassed by the quality of their cusine.

Now, I would normally name the dishes for you but I am afraid I would (warning, bad pun ahead) butcher them so badly that Chef Kellum would come after me.  So, you’ll just have to go in for yourself to sample these delightful courses.

The last photo is something I photographed for the Hotel.  I am unsure of its exact purpose but I believe it sits on the room service tray and will actually alert the staff once it’s set into the hallway.  This insures a prompt pickup of any meal items once outside the room…  ya, I thought it was pretty cool myself.

Kacie & Jordan - Raleigh NC Wedding

I met Kacie earlier this year at the Cary Magazine Weddings Gala at Prestonwood.  She had swung by my booth with her Mom and we chatted for quite some time.  By the time the gala was over, I was booked at I felt like I had known the both of them for much longer then a couple of hours.  Kacie & Jordan had their wedding and reception at Sister’s Garden in Raleigh.  With lovely weather outside, unbeleivable scenery and a beautifual couple, the afternoon service was picture perfect (sorry for the bad pun).

After the ceremony everyone sat down to one of my top ten meals of my photography career.  Shrimp & Grits, Tenderloin in a mushroom gravy sauce & Spinach & ham topped chicken were just a couple of the items on the menu.  Jordan and Kacie were both a pleasure to work with and we even got a “road shot” on Millbrook road.  No, I won’t show that one on my blog just in case someone gets run over (I don’t recommend this by the way) and blames me.  :)

Congratulations to both Jordan & Kacie!  It was my pleasure to photograph your wedding celebration!

Fun with textures!

Many times I don’t post the really artistic work I do on my blog.  I usually like to surprise the happy couple after they’ve received everything from their wedding but I decided it’s better to show a couple of them off.  The below shots are a couple of (what I think anyway) great examples of the feeling and nuance you can add to a simple photo to turn it from a memory to a piece of art.

These shots are from Amie & Holt’s wedding in Raleigh on July 26th.

Enjoy!
