The take a seat auction, benefiting Cary Visual Art, featured approximately 80 of the wildest chairs you’ve ever seen, including one called the “walking Chair” which was so contorted, there is no possible way you could sit in one. Held at 11000 Regency Parkway, the chairs lined down both sides of the main entrance and made for a great spectacle. Catering was provided by the Hibernian Pub, the event was a huge success with the top bid being $1500 for, you guessed it, the walking chair.
As an added Bonus, the Mayor of Cary, Ernie McAlister, lent the audience his stellar talents on guitar and backup vocal for a rendition of “Brown Eyed Girl”.
