This past week I attended the Reedy Creek Middle School Career Day for the 2nd straight year. I really enjoyed talking with the 8th graders about photography last year so I was really eager to attend this year. I met and spoke with about 80 8th graders that all had some level of interest in becoming a photographer. With my wide range of photography experiences (wedding, editorial, product, architecture, portrait and general commercial) I really enjoyed giving students a glimpse of the business side of what I love doing.
I did meet one aspiring National Geographic photographer during my visit. He’s using film cameras right now and will be getting a new digital camera for Christmas. If you happen to be reading this blog, I wish you good fortune on your journey! As for everyone else I met, please feel free to call or e-mail me with any photography related questions – whether it be educational, business, technical or artistic.
Here’s a few random portraits I shot in the gymnasium as part of the day.
