So it may have taken me most of the year to blog again, but i’m definitely going to update with an amazing wedding! April & Mike, after looking over several venues, decided on having a North Carolina Museum of Art wedding in April of this year. The NCMA is truly a beautiful wedding venue that not only has a perfect palette for a wedding, but the grounds offer such a unique venue for wedding photography.
I’ve gotten to know April & Mike quite well over the past 16 months. From enjoying beers when our engagement session met with a torrential downpour to a few chance meetings (and a couple of invitations) for dinner, I truly consider them friends and it’s been a true pleasure going thru their wedding process with them. So to say I had been looking forward to their wedding day would be an understatement. They had both their wedding and reception at the beautiful NC Art Museum. They had opted to have a “first look” before their ceremony and this gave us quite a lot of time to not only photograph their family formals, but their wedding portraits as well. For so many of my weddings I am severely limited on time to create beautiful portraits that having an hour with just the couple was a real treat and resulted in some amazing wedding photographs for the two of them.
After the wedding ceremony was over, they were able to enjoy their cocktail hour with family and friends before dinner, toasts and, of course, dancing. They hired Six Stylez who absolutely killed it at the reception and had the dance floor just packed all night long.
I want to give a very big congratulations to both April & Mike! It was truly an honor to be a part of your wedding!
