Julianne & Jason – Duke Chapel Wedding – Durham, NC

I have been looking forward to this Wedding at Duke Chapel for quite some time.  I met Julianne in the summer when she was in town taking care of some wedding business (hair & makeup dry run with my wife, Raleigh wedding hair & makeup stylist, Ginger).  Ginger happened to mention I was a photographer and, just like that, we met and discussed her wedding plans.  The day of the wedding arrived and I think I was almost as excited as the happy couple.

The day started out at the Washington Duke Inn where Julianne & Jason were both getting ready and having the reception. I love doing preparation photography and Julianne was an absolute angel to bear with me while I take shot after shot of just about everything in the room.  After we left the hotel and had the ceremony, the sky had decided to turn, well, dark.  This left me with a golden opportunity to use some techniques I have picked up using existing and supplemental lighting.  I hope you’ll agree that the effect is nothing short of breathtaking!

For those of you who have never been to or seen Duke Chapel, I highly recommend you go whenever you are in the area.  It is absolutely the finest area example of neo Gothic architecture in the area.

choosydad - Great shots – interesting church. Never seen a Gothic style church use that type of stone before.
