Beach Portraits | Wilmington, NC

As I was in Wilmington, NC shooting a wedding photography client, I decided to make the most of my trip and head up to Topsail beach for a family portrait session.  Photographing a family portrait is alot of fun for me as the pressures of timelines and waiting guests are nowhere to be found so I get to really take my time and get exactly what I am looking for.  Photographing on the coast of North Carolina isn’t bad either.

We were originally slated to meet in Wrightsville beach for this family portrait session.  It was 4th of July weekend and while I knew it would be busy, I had no idea how bad traffic would be at 4pm.  I think it took 45 minutes to go 1 mile.  I ended up calling my clients and turning around to meet them in Topsail as it didn’t make sense to have them come through the same traffic also.  So up to Topsail Beach I went and, honestly, it was a smart decision.  The beaches were fairly open and they have beautiful dunes, houses and all around gorgeous scenery.   I hope you enjoy a few photos from the session.
