North Carolina Wedding Photographers
Being a wedding photographer and having talked with many North Carolina Wedding Photographers, I’d like to offer some advice on what to do when searching for that perfect person to document your wedding.
A picture perfect moment. You and your family are all gathered for the holidays, you invite your boyfriend over for dinner. He calls for a toast and, after a heartfelt speech about your relationship, he asks for your hand in marriage. Although the order of events may not have been the same in each situation, the results are still the same- YOU’RE GETTING MARRIED! So after the celebration and the emotional hype, you begin to plan for the big day. You search for a venue for the wedding and reception, talk with wedding photographers, etc.
Wedding photographer are artists who reflect their style, taste, and personal preference through their pricing, packaging, and products. Since there are so many possibilities to choose from, how do you decide? For me, hierarchy is the key. I believe that personality and photography are two major parts that should be accounted for along with the selection of pricing.
Personality – Since wedding photographers are around their clients almost the entire day, it is imperative that you feel at ease when they are around. This synchronized feeling will promote better picture quality as the photographer is able to capture you in your finest emotional moments. If you love your wedding photographers personality, then view there work to verify the person is right for you.
Photography – Once you have selected your wedding photographers personality, the next task is to view the work. We all know that the best work is put on display, so go beyond the “portfolio image”. Examine a full wedding so you can view the photographers true work, both the good and the not so good.
Pricing – There is a joke that asks “How much would you pay for bad wedding photography?”. This statement has a twisted truth. Although you may search for a wedding photographer in your price range, be sure that the photographer is compatible. I receive a lot of e-mails and phone calls asking only about price. I can assure you that, in 10 years, you will have forgotten all about the price you paid and only have the photos as a memory.
