Winston Salem Wedding Photography | Amelia & Steve

When Amelia and I originally spoke, it was over the phone and after some talking and emailing, she hired me for her Winston Salem Wedding Photography without ever having met in person.   As we talked about her wedding day, I got more and more excited with her artistic and unique vision for her big day.

The wedding ceremony was held at her parents home in Winston Salem.   Having never seen the location prior to arriving, I was very pleasantly surprise to see a large tiered garden area in the backyard overlooking a beautiful tree lined pond.  The garden area wrapped around the house and an Arch had been constructed for the ceremony to take place in front of.  In other words, an extremely beautiful and unique location for a wedding.

For those of you that know me (and those that don’t), I’m 6’5″ and my height really allows me to get some great, unobstructed views during the wedding and reception.  I was most certainly outdone by Steve and his brother, who are 6’8″ (Amelia is 5’4″).  Well, Steve, his brother and I were the first to realize it started to rain just as the ceremony began.  Luckily, it was only a light rain and, to my benefit, the light you get on a rainy day is usually fantastic!  The rain broke just as the ceremony began and, at one point, the sun broke through the clouds and illuminated gorgeous scenery all around them.

After the wedding, we headed over to the Old Town Club in Winston-Salem, NC for their wedding reception.  Randy McManus was Amelia’s florist and had setup a really impressive display.  With live trees adorning the reception tables, custom table coverings to allow for the tree trunk, and beautiful “wraps” for the lights, the room was really transformed into a beautiful outdoors reception.  The band was kickin, the wedding cake (carrot cake, my favorite) was masterfully done and everyone really enjoyed celebrating Amelia & Steve’s marriage!  The couple left that evening to, and I have evidence, the  most rose pedals ever in the air at once (that I have even photographed).  I do have a shot of an over enthusiastic groomsmen trying to put rose petals where, well, no groom would want rose petals, but you’ll have to login to the gallery to see those.  :)

Thank you both, so much, for having me as your wedding photographer!  Getting to know you,  your families and friends was definitely a highlight for me!!  I hope you enjoy a few choice photos.
